“In this module, students on the BA Media and Anthropology devise a multidisciplinary creative project that utilises a range of skills in journalism, web design, photography and film.
Building on their year 2 creative projects, students produce a more in-depth piece, advancing their technical and conceptual skills. Responding to the brief “Subjectivity, Creativity and Power” students research, write and present a proposal for their creative project based on an original idea.
The production processes follow creative industry protocols through preproduction, production, and postproduction phases with feedback and reflection from peers and tutors throughout. Students present their research and development through to the final completed project in a Padlet.
Sohaila has produced a truly unique project, utilising the excellent creative and technical skills she has developed over two years of creative practice.
This was a broad, tricky, but urgent subject to take on. AI is such a widely discussed topic, it can sometimes feel inaccessible or even overdone, but Sohaila has managed to approach it in a way that feels engaging, original and personal.
Working with Sohaila was exciting and creative and highly collaborative as opposed to the student–teacher dynamic. Reliable, present and full of critical creativity, she inspired us, we are proud of her and excited about her final project and where this takes her as she starts her creative career.”
