Hand–drawn with oil pastels and oil sticks on paper, Queen of the Forest is a raw expression of emotions, bridging the gap between the inexpressible and the expressible, the material and the ephemeral.

Queen of the Forest positions the universally cyclical nature of human experience as being interwoven with the intensely personal process of com- ing to terms with loss. The naïve style of drawing and choice of animation technique here serves the thematic return to, and archiving of, childhood memories that otherwise remain fragmented and ineffable.
