“Goldsmiths Animation Students learn to become visual storytellers, universal communicators, and explorers of a medium unrestricted by the real-world laws of space, time, and gravity.
They are taught to use 2D and 3D Animation, using software such as Photoshop, After Effects, Dragon Stop Motion, and Blender. They also learn about film language, writing for animation, composition, photography, lighting and sound.
We ask a lot of our students, who in the third year must create a whole Animated film from scratch, on their own. This requires them to research, write, record audio, design and make characters and sets, work with sound designers, and of course, animate!
This year’s group have risen to the challenge, and have produced unique films using several different animation techniques and styles, and that explore a wide range of themes and emotions.”
