The Space In-between is a cinematic installation exploring the evolving relationship between devotion, faith, and attachment within my family. Using a mix of documentary-style footage and AI-generated visuals, the work contemplates the surrendership they feel for their Guru, a presence that has shifted the belief system of the family.

The project explores the dynamics between a spiritual mindset and the resulting detachment, especially how one cannot exist without the other. A ritual, an act of surrendership and devotion, unfolds through veils of AI-generated videos, mirroring the paradox of detachment. The interplay of actual and artificial questions whether true detachment is ever possible or if remembering is itself a form of attachment.

Photography, traditionally an act of preservation, contrasts with the impermanence the work seeks to explore. The tension mirrors the shifting perception of loved ones, not just as parents, but as individuals on their spiritual paths. The work becomes an intimate meditation on impermanence and the desire to hold onto that which must fade.
