Focusing on the relationship between food and mental health, this photographic project illustrates how nutrition affects our emotional and mental well-being. Through a series of curated images, the project addresses themes like disordered eating, anxiety around food, and emotional consumption while emphasising that food plays a role in providing solace, recovery, and self-care.

The simplicity of a freshly made meal, the chaos of an incomplete plate or the energy of fresh ingredients signaling a rebirth — these are each its own story. The project focuses on textures, colors and composition to provoke viewers’ thoughts about their own relationship with food and mental health.

By raising awareness and initiating discussion about eating disorders and mental health struggles, I want to abolish the stigma of them. Food does more than nourish our bodies: it has a profound impact on our emotions, memories and identities.
