Born in 2002, Lara Nazlı Shaw is a British-Turkish writer currently based in the UK. Starting her career on stage as an actress, she has traded the spotlight for behind the scenes work. She is establishing herself in both screen, scriptwriting and fiction prose. Her work is classic, descriptive, and there’s a sincerity in her stories. Human connection is at the heart of her writing and she’s inspired by the day-to-day normalities of life and trying to reimagine and find the beauty in the banality.

She has created a music video for the musical duo Jadu Heart, wrote and starred in her own short film, produced three scripts, and has recently tried her hand at writing for children. Not shying away from any medium, Lara Nazlı Shaw approaches writing with an exemplary open-mindedness.

She is currently in her final year at Goldsmiths, University of London studying Media and Communications.
