The ‘Odd Frog’ is a story about self-love and kindness. I created a vibrant illustrative journey to captivate the minds of children, using the illustrations to inspire certain feelings of joy, and sadness. I wanted to create a children’s book similar to the ones I read as a child, which focused on adventure, emotions, and imagination. They relied on the natural world to create an immersive story; I wanted to make nature a focal point within my project, to use the calming atmosphere, and relying on its natural oddities to assist with the storyline. I illustrated this concept as a way for every child to understand how being different is not ‘odd’. It encourages children to accept themselves and others around them, heightening the theme of love and respect for all.
