Dramatic Family

Dramatic Family tells the stories of eccentric individuals from different backgrounds who come together in theatre, finding a second home amongst their fellow performers in their amateur dramatics’ society.

In Southend-On-Sea, they have been putting on plays for the community for decades. With the increasing divide in the world, we want to give these individuals a platform to display their love for acting and to talk about amateur dramatics, an art form that is often mocked.

They share their experiences and time in the drama group, telling fun stories about empathy and love. This film showcases their passions and celebrates their communities.
