This body of work serves to address the “complex intersection between visual culture and public privacy” (Cotton, 2017: 8); specifically considering how the concept of social class interferes in this relationship.

I Keep My Worries Between My Teeth (2023-) is an autobiographical piece that challenges my role as an artist, inviting me to consider the relationship of ‘seeing, and being seen’; whilst simultaneously creating an intimate relationship with viewers, who are invited to consider their position as an external force within the work. My practice can be seen to incorporate “evidence based” components, that ultimately serve to challenge what is considered as an artistic device. The work is a profound intimate reflection that attempts to visualise the intimacies of my working class up-bringing.
