The Wanderers of The Earth

Hello, this is Quaner:) I am a writer in the making and a media student. I'm passionate about exploring topics such as gender, sexuality, ethnicity, intersectionality and identities.
I named my project "The Wanderers of The Earth". It is a pilot script, and I plan to turn it into a mini-series for streaming on platforms like A24 and Hulu.
Based on a real-life story, my script is about an ordinary, exhausted woman living in a dizzying metropolis - like many of us - who gradually becomes seduced and trapped in a toxic spiritual cult, ultimately falling into the abyss. Set in Hong Kong, my script jumps between two timelines and employs a back-and-forth narrative. Hopefully, it will give you a sense of verisimilitude, suspense and mystery.
I always want to focus on people who are underrepresented in the eyes of the mainstream and use my own work to bring visibility to them. This time, my project casts a gaze at a particular marginalised group - queer East Asian women who are deeply bounded by Confucian traditional values. I very much hope to combine my lived experience with my work to offer you a glimpse of the inner journey of women like us.
