Throughout my 3 years of practice, I have continuously explored themes relating to identity, intimacy and materiality. Photography has helped me investigate the relationships between material objects and identity; intimacy in relation to people in their personal spaces; and the ways in which people enact their gendered performance.

This project continues my exploration with these themes. The project focuses on the material items that are often described as "second-skin": underwear. Conceptually, it aims to look at the relationship between these objects and the psychoanalytical notions of the body. I draw off the idea that a form of haptic communication occurs within the wearer of these items, which makes them aware of both their own bodies and the physical constrictions of these objects.

When creating my work, I like my images to leave from for the viewers own interpretation and response/analysis. Hopefully its slightly different for each individual!
