Scenes from a queue

Originally from the States, Shayda is interested in any and all fairy tales. She has spent her time at Goldsmith's writing stories about talking animals and magical beings, while also serving as Editor in Chief of GoldDust magazine.

Her showcase piece is a bit of a left turn for her, as it is completely based in reality. It captures the near-out-of-body experience of queuing for twelve hours to see the Queen's Lying-In-State. It captures the emotional highs and psychological lows of making a dust-till-dawn pilgrimage across London for a glimpse inside Westminster Hall, and of course, doing it for the story.
