Good Morning, Savannah!
Gracia Mujica
My final illustration project, ‘Good Morning, Savannah!’, is a children’s picture book designed for toddlers. It introduces animals from the African savannah through bright, engaging illustrations and simple storytelling. The story follows the start of a new day, showing the sunrise as different animals wake up and begin their morning routines. Each page focuses on a specific animal or group, using short, playful text alongside expressive visuals to show their behaviour and personality. The main focus of the project is visual storytelling, as young children rely more on images to understand meaning. Because of this, I kept the language clear and simple, allowing the illustrations to carry most of the narrative. Throughout the process, I considered colour, character design, composition, and pacing to keep the book interesting and easy to follow.
