Don't Fold

This music video project came from a period where I was putting a lot of pressure on myself to fulfil my potential. I kept questioning what it actually means to ‘fulfil potential’, and concluded that ultimately no one ever fully achieves it, because potential is always evolving and expanding. This led me to think about potential as something you are always gambling with, but there’s no final point where you’ve actually won. The poker theme came from this idea, as a way to visualise this gamble and the sense of chasing something that keeps moving out of reach. 
 
I collaborated with two music artists to create this track. I worked with Parris a.k.a 2miliion, (artist and sound engineer) and Sacha (music producer), explaining the concept and the visual ideas.  
 
In the video, Parris’s (or my) 'potential' is depicted by the character in the green tracksuit, as a personification that can be confronted and played with, yet ultimately is always two steps ahead, so therefore, can never be beaten.
