A Transient Sexual Intercourse Between the Eternity and a Skyscraper
Plagiarism is necessary according to Isidore Ducasse, also known as Comte de Lautréamont. Fragments of his prose poem Les Chants de Maldoror, one of the main inspirations of the Surrealist movement, were overlaid with the imagery of the film. In the poem he subverted reality, reassembling all kinds of its selected pieces together under new meanings, which inspired the experimentation with visually rhyming footage with his lines.
The film was shot on Tri-X Super-8 B&W Reversal Film and processed without using professional film laboratory facilities. The defects of the film, which appeared during independent processing, create the feeling of timelessness and indefinite space. Every visual effect is a consequence of pure chance.
One should remember that the course of time is inescapable. The film depicts the relativity of time, and how imagination might be a means of breaking routine, loneliness and oppression.
