“A degree show occupies a unique space in the minds of our wonderful students. It is a culmination of three years of work and growth but also an opportunity to reflect on what those three years have meant, the difficulties and triumphs they have experienced translated into the work they have produced and exhibited. While this need to reflect and process the past is important, it is also a marker of the start of something new and the start of a journey for them that will help shape what we will become collectively.
The ideas explored and realised across our practice areas grapple with the past, present and future head on – understanding how great work can help us reflect on where we have been, know where we are now and navigate us to a new and hopeful future. Standing among the work, perhaps you can sense that bright future too?”

About ANTE/POST:
We chose the title ANTE/POST (Latin for “before and after”) as the theme of the 2025 Degree Show because we wanted to reflect on our journeys as students at Goldsmiths in the context of the past and present.
ANTE/POST resonated with us as students because we’re in a strange, liminal space where our projects are both our freshest ideas and long-anticipated, hard-earned products - yet they are a legacy we leave for this university. An artefact of university life.
Media often intersects with memory, and all the creative and diverse works featured in this catalogue and the show reflect this connection.
Our projects capture what fascinated us at this point in our lives - and encapsulate the discussions we felt needed to happen now. It captured sceneries that will change rapidly and endlessly, and recorded words by people who will change their minds and take different life trajectories in years to come. As practitioners, we are shaped by heritage, ability, and imagination - all with roots in different cultures. We have worked hard to bring our differences and multitudes to light and to fashion something current and unique.
This show proudly embodies the visions we honed through our time at Goldsmiths and is a testament to the creatives we have and will become.
