Visual narratives
Tianzhi Li
This portfolio showcases my graphic design practice, centered on book-cover design, typography and visual storytelling. Focusing on mystery and literary works – including stories by Keigo Higashino – I explore how colour palettes, type systems and composition shape emotional tone and narrative atmosphere. I balance minimalist modern aesthetics with expressive lettering to create distinct visual identities for each title, emphasising subtle details that reflect themes of secrecy, connection, and quiet tension. Through iterative sketching, final refinement and consistent visual language, my work aims to bridge text and image, making each cover both visually compelling and thematically faithful. This project reflects my commitment to thoughtful, intentional design that communicates deeply with readers.
