The queering of normative concepts has interested and influenced my photographic practice throughout my 3rd year. "XXX" visually explores a house that immediately felt like home to both me and my mother when we first lived in the UK, each at the age of 20. The homeowner, a now very dear family friend, is someone with an overwhelmingly great influence on all that are around her. This series of darkroom prints, taken on medium and large format (mostly experimenting with different long exposures), is also trying to capture the positive spirit to be found in her home. On the one hand, the project should serve as a thank you to her; on the other hand it is a shoutout to queering the nuclear family!
