Traces of Architecture
Jianhao Su
This project explores Chinese traditional architecture and how it can be translated into contemporary surface design. I have always been interested in using cultural elements in my work, so I focused on architectural structures, patterns, and decorative details as key sources of inspiration. During the process, I experimented with pattern, composition, and visual arrangement to develop a series of designs. These were applied to different objects, allowing traditional forms to be reinterpreted in a new context. Through this project, I explored how architectural elements can move beyond their original context and become part of modern visual culture, while maintaining a connection to their cultural origins.
